Kaminoseki lies at the southern tip of Yamaguchi Prefecture and consists of the Kaminoseki Peninsula and surrounding islands.
The tidal currents of the Seto Inland Sea are complex here, creating many coves and island-studded seascapes.
There are few plains; coastal terraces and gentle hills dominate the terrain.
The area enjoys a warm climate and is known for classic multi-island coastal scenery typical of the Seto Inland Sea.
